Biography:
Prof. Ghorab is the current Suez Canal University President. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Cairo University, Egypt (1994). He holds his M.Sc. from Cairo University (1991), Egypt and B. Pharm from the same college (1987). His research interest is Pharmaceutics. He was awarded the state encouragement state prize in medicine (2003) and was the responsible for the pharmaceuticals and chemistry projects officer in the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research) in (2009). Prof. Ghorab was selected in many leadership positions as he was a chairman for department of pharmaceutics and industrial pharmacy (2003), vice-dean for community & environmental affairs (2004), vice-dean for postgraduate studies and scientific research affairs (2007) and dean for college of pharmacy (2011), Suez Canal University.

Biography:
Professor Mahmoud Abdel-Aty is a professor of mathematics and information science at the University of Science and Technology, Zewail City. Abdel-Aty’s academic background started in 1990 when he received his Bachelor of Science degree, excellent with honors, from Assuit University, Egypt. In 1995 he earned his Master of Science degree in applied mathematics from the same university. Abdel-Aty then moved to Germany where he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in applied mathematics from Max Plank Institute for Quantum Optics. In 2007, he received his Doctor of Science degree in mathematics and physics from the National University of Uzbekistan. Abdel-Aty began his career as an assistant lecturer at Assuit University. In 1995 he went to Egypt's South Valley University where he held various positions. He progressed from lecturer to assistant professor in 1999, and in 2004 he was appointed as an associate professor. From 2007 to 2014, Abdel-Aty was the director of Natural Sciences Publishing, a peer-reviewed academic publisher, in the United States. Abdel-Aty also served as the head of the University of Bahrain’s scientific publishing center. In 2014, he became the vice president of the African Academy of Sciences. Abdel-Aty’s research interests focus on applied mathematics, mathematical modeling, quantum circuits, quantum computation and information processing, transition state spectroscopy and laser control of physical systems, and the foundation of quantum mechanics. In recognition of his scientific efforts, Abdel-Aty is the recipient of many awards including the National Award of Excellence in basic Sciences, Prof. Fayza Al-Khoraphy’s prize in physics, Amin Lotfy’s Prize for Basic Sciences, Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize, State Prize of Distinction in Mathematical Sciences awarded by the Egyptian Academy of Science and technology, and the Third World Academy Award in Mathematics.

Biography:
Dr. Ahmed Gaber is a geologist specialized in the applications of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for land subsidence detection, groundwater discovery in arid lands, archaeological investigations and tree roots and utility detection. He has conducted research on the: (i) estimation of the ground water potentiality in the Western Desert of Egypt, (ii) archeological exploration in Japan and Egypt, (iii) estimating the underground biomass by detecting the tree roots, (iv) evaluating the land subsidence rate using the differential radar interferometry technique, (v) soil mapping using the polarization signature of full polarimeteric SAR data and (vi) calculating the soil moisture and surface roughness. Dr. Gaber obtained his Bachelor and Master Degrees from the geology department, faculty of science at Suez Canal University in 1999 and early 2006, respectively. In 2007, Dr. Gaber has visited the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University, USA and worked directly with Professor Farouk El-Baz. From 2009 to late 2012, Dr. Gaber has moved to Japan to study his PhD at Tohoku University under the supervision of Professor Motoyuki Sato who is one of the most famous professors in the world in the field of Radar technology and its applications. In 2011, Dr. Gaber has been awarded the Farouk El-Baz award as the first Egyptian and Arabian PhD student from the Geological Society of America (GSA), regarding his research works in the desert. In 2013, Dr. Gaber has been appointed as assistant professor at Port-Said University and research scientist at the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University, USA and since that time and Dr. Ahmed Gaber is working closely to Professor Farouk El-Baz and has been involved as Co-Investigator in many international projects, thus he is traveling frequently to Boston University. In 2014, Dr. Gaber has been appointed as visiting scholar at University of Pittsburg, USA. Since January 2015, Dr. Gaber has been appointed as advisory to the Egyptian Prime Minister in the field of water and mineral resources.

Prof. Abou El Hassan is the current Head of Farm Irrigation Management Department, Water Management Research Institute, National Water Research Center. He acquired an extensive experience in the field of designing, managing, carryout, analysis and publish results, formulation process, implementation, and follow up research projects in the field of water management. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Integrated Water Management from Tottori University, Japan (2006). He also awarded a post-doctoral fellow from JSPS-Tottori University, Japan from 2007-2009. Then, he was appointed as a visiting Associate Professor to the Arid Land Research Center, Japan from 2009-2010. He is a member in different academic societies such as the Arab Water Council, Life-time member of the International Network on Participatory Irrigation Management (INPIM), Head of Climate Change Working Group of the ICID Egyptian National Committee and the International Society for Agro-meteorology (INSAM). Reviewer in different international journals such as Irrigation and Drainage, AGWAT, Cambridge Agric. Sci. etc. He have experience with international organizations such as FAO, GIZ, IWMI and ICARDA.

Prof. Ibrahim was born in Menoufia, Egypt in 1963. Studying chemistry at Menoufia University (MU) between 1981 and 1985 and graduated with first class honors. In the year 1986, he was appointed to his first post as a demonstrator in Organic Chemistry at MU, then received both his MSc (1989) and PhD (1994) degrees from MU and Aarhus University, Denmark. Promoted to associate professor in 2000 and full professor of organic and medicinal chemistry at MU in June 2005. After his PhD degree in 1994 he spent many years of post-doctoral positions at Vienna University, Austria (1995), University of Tokyo, Japan (1996-1997), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tsukuba, Japan (1997-1999), Uppsala University, Sweden (2001-2002), University of Antwerp, Belgium (2003-2006). Okayama University (May, 2008- March, 2009). Visiting Professor: Technical University of Denmark (December, 2001); University of Antwerp, Belgium (May, 2007-July, 2007), Okayama University (August, 2012-September 2012) & Nagoya University (August, 2014-October 2015). Currently he is President of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Alumni Association in Egypt (JSPSAAE) since 2012.
